Here’s and example as to why Therion in my opinion is the best true Progressive Metal band around.
On this post I decided to add a video I found on Youtube from apparently Therion’s new CD and DVD Miskolc Experience.
An incredible display of how well Heavy Metal Music blends with a classical orchestra. I suppose its the Gothic sound that Progressive Metal Music captures which seems to go so well hand in hand with the ancient sound of Classical music.
Therion has been around since 1987 starting out as a Death Metal band. They’ve gradually evolved and matured into a fine professional, original sounding Progressive Metal band that just keep inventing their own style and trend.
The song “The Rise Of Sodom And Gomorrah” is origianlly from their album Vovin which is excellent as well. I personally have every one of Therion’s albums and listen to them quite often, Vovin is one album without exception which has many fascinating and enjoyable songs which are more Classical music based.
